<p>If you look at the charts in the link Sikorsky provided, you will see that your grades and scores are somewhat on the low side. However, if you are a URM and part of the Posse program, you still might be an attractive candidate.</p>
<p>You indicated that you have the AP Scholar award–what were your scores? I am surprised your SAT is not higher in light of your success with the AP exams. Have you taken the ACT?</p>
<p>Show a lot of interest. Tour the campus. Go to local meetings and email or talk with your admissions rep. If you are really sure AU is your number 1 choice and have examined the finances, apply ED. My daughter was admitted with stats only a little bit stronger than yours.</p>
<p>PushyDad is on the right track. American is very interested in students that are very interested in them. My daughter is a freshman this year. She had stats similar to yours.</p>
<p>She applied and ultimately decided to go ED because she felt so strongly about the school. She applied test optional. </p>
<p>She was told in an info session at her school that generally speaking American’s acceptance rate for ED is 65-70%, significantly higher than regular admission.</p>
