This is what my class learns from. We occasionally reference a textbook, and my teacher lectures a good deal (most of which is not retained because I'm a visual learner).
So my question: If I want to make a 5, is AMSCO enough?
I really don't want to order any more prep books - my family's already spent so much on SAT and ACT prep, not mention everything else I've needed for school this year. Plus, I doubt any book I buy online would arrive quickly enough to study, since I'm unable to go out any buy it (and my public library is very lacking in terms of test prep).
If AMSCO isn't enough - what is it missing? Perhaps I can refer to our textbook for those specifics.

You should also read and study several of the free-response and DBQ essays at AP Central:

Thank you sooo much dark knight for the link! : D
I was going to make a thread asking for something like that.

Collegeboard might as well be my second home, now. Luckily though, after I had a semi-mental breakdown in an email to my teacher (few weeks ago), she gave me another REA prep book. Not Crash Course - but I’m not complaining. Thank you for your input!

AMSCO is very good for reviewing the information, but the practice tests aren’t very good if that’s what you’re looking for

AMSCO + CB FRQ’s = 5

^I agree. BTW, Congrats on Duke ;)

Okay, so by the practice/sample exams on Collegeboard - do you guys recommend just looking over them and brainstorming or actually attempting a full out essay?

Teachers have found the AMSCO to be the go-to book for years. Be sure to read the Preface, Introduction, and the Historical Perspectives sections.

AMSCO got me a 5 last year. Only review book I really used.

YES
