Hi, I haven't heard about an interview at all yet. is this strange, does that mean they don't even consider me good enough to get an interview. Is it required. What if I don't get one, is that really bad. Anyone know?

I'm in the same boat as you, but don't worry. Interviews are scheduled systematically by availability, not by merit. The interview is not required nor that important once you have one.

I am pretty sure the interview will not have any impact on your admissions
outcome at Pton.

:)

The way they do the interviews (the staff told me) is that they interview the more qualified/likely students earlier to get them out of the way. Then, if they have time they interview some of the maybes/less likelies. If they don't contact you its a sign of no chance pretty much.

JUST KIDDING. Sorry, don't stress. I didn't have an interview and was accepted EA to another school.

I had my interview in the spring. So it's not too late. And even if you don't get one, don't worry. They don't matter.

Weasel, you mean you had one like in March? isn't the interview report due like in the middle of Feb?

i sent my app in october and i just had my interview last week. i wouldn't worry

Yeah, when I applied a few years ago, I didn't have an interview until the beginning of Feb.

So interiews are non evaluative if they dont matter as people say?

I haven't gotten an interview yet, and I don't think it can negatively impact your application!

True, but I'm expecting I might do well on an interview, if nothing goes wrong, it would be nice if it counted (and I got one).

I haven't gotten one yet, but I wish I could have one. Not just so the adcoms can have more info one me, but I'd like to talk to the Princeton alum and get some info on Princeton. All the interviews I've gone to for other schools have been very informative.

My Princeton interviewer emphasized it was the "informative interview" several times (and also that he has no idea nor an intention to ask how much interview counts).

One thing that makes me wonder is that,
if 90% of the applicants get interviews, and say, 70% out of those interviewed people get excited about the school based on the Princeton alum's perspectives, and we know that less than 10% end up getting in, isn't it little cruel to make everyone like the school only to reject them in the end? :/

Well, then there are those interviewers who would make any Pton loving
applicant run for their life away from Pton.

;)

Ah, so you think interview could also be a way to actually make number of people who like Princeton go down :D
