Is anthropology easy to get in as a transfer at ucb

I have a 3.9 gpa at a csu took a ton of anthropology and bio and chem classes

Easier than bio, which you asked about in another post.

…and 1000x easier than eecs, which you asked about in another post. :-w

I guess I’m going with anthro

Anthro is in the social sciences division at Berkeley, and they admit by division, not major.

The social sciences division had a 23.2% admit rate last admission cycle: http://admissions.berkeley.edu/sites/default/files/docs/Transfer_Flier.pdf

Hello everyone, i had a question too. I am a bio. MAJOR at csusb as a freshman. PEOPLE told me to change my major cuz i wanna transfer to UCLA. AND go to a CC in my sophomer year. SO what does u guys think??
Thank you soooo much in arvance if any one replies.

there are three prerequistes for anthro do i only have to take those three classes or more

@pinkponylife Just those three.

@lindyk8
Does geology have anything to do with anthro

Anthropology is a massively interdisciplinary field - archaeology involves knowledge of geology. Social sciences intermingle with harder sciences quite a bit.

^^^ agree. They have the biological anthropology, the cultural anthropology, the archeological anthropology, etc. there are many offshoots to specialize in. I personally always recommend it for pre-med, especially if you go the biological route.

How many biology prereqs have you already taken?

UCB is a wonderful university, but if you know that biology is what fascinates you then I would just take the 15.8% odds over the 23%. You can still apply to UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCD, etc, all of which have only slightly less prestige in the field of research. If you are just trying to get to medical school, then major in whatever, But if you are actually interested in the study of science than stick with it. All of these schools will still be there for grad school. If you don’t care then go with the best odds. But if you do care than don’t sacrifice interest for prestige because you will only be at these schools for two or three years before you are applying for something new.

Thanks for the advice everyone I have decided to apply for econ only at ucb and bio at everything else I’m really interested in Econ my parents might look down on it as a no science major but I’ll convince them
