I am a freshman at a school that I do not like so much, so I’m thinking about doing a gap semester, then apply to a different college. I will have to apply as a freshman again, for I will only have 12 credits. Does anyone know of any good gap programs that starts in January? And if I apply to a different school as a freshman, would I be able to transfer my credits?
Whether you are a freshman still will vary by school. Some schools consider you a transfer as soon as you complete any college credits at all.
I can’t help with any gap programs, but if you don’t find one, I would encourage a job or volunteering or something like that.
Can’t help with the gap programs, though you might also consider study abroad. You should be able to transfer your credits, though they may or may not meet specific requirements at your new school - they might end up as electives within the appropriate departments. You also might want to post your question somewhere other than the National Merit Scholarships forum, since it has nothing to do with these scholarships
