Is anybody familiar with Princeton's Ecology and Evolution program able to share their experience?

While I hold no false pretenses about my odds of actually getting into Princeton, I feel like I should get a bit more info about it. I need to pick between here and Yale soon in order to focus my time for the Early Admission deadline. I’m getting info from both schools, and would like to hear if anybody has anything to say.

I was lucky enough to go to the campus on a nice day (trying not to let that bias me too much) and it is certainly gorgeous. However, I was not able to look into any housing while I was there, and although I set up a meeting with a member of the EEB department, they were unable to follow through.

As far as I am aware, Princeton has a world-class program, as does Yale. So what makes Princeton a good experience for you? My concern comes with the relative dearth of course offerings (though the trips abroad look really interesting). Notably, there does not appear to be many specialization courses, such as Ornithology. In addition, there does not seem to be much out-of-class material (based on class descriptions), which is key for my college experience.

I guess what I want to know is how life as an EEB student is at Princeton. You can talk about anything, from my predisposed notion of course offerings to how the dorm experience is and general campus life. Academics, social aspects, whatever you want. What has Princeton offered you that you do not think you will get anywhere else? Thank you so much in advance!
