Is anyone applying to all or most of the Ivies?

Is anyone applying to all or most of the ivies? If so, why? Does anyone know of anyone getting into all of them?

I am aware of one student who has applied to all of the Ivy League schools, as well as Stanford and Chicago. It was her mother's idea and had to do with bragging rights and "prestige."

Get into all of them? In my opinion this student will get into none of them.

A girl from last year applied to all the ivies except for Penn.
she got into all of them.

only those who want to brag... its pointless and dumb... pick a few that you like and apply to those

nope...just 2 :)

Google "a one-man ivy league".

why is it pointless? everyone says it's lots of totally qualified people are turned away from each Ivy. So odds are if you apply to 2 or 3; you'll get in none. Just like the kids I know who were scrambling like mad on April 2nd. So, don't bash the kids who apply to many places.

applied to 3 HPY

I applied to Yale, Princeton, and Brown

There was some kid who did get into all of them. I personally think it's stupid. That shows you just want to go to an Ivy for the prestige. In reality, you should look at the individual Ivy's that are best for you. Each Ivy is actually very different. Honestly, if you apply to every Ivy with a good application, yes there's a chance you'll get accepted to more of them. A better idea would be to look at colleges in general and see what you want. Many schools are better than the lower-tier Ivy's. They may not have the bragging rights, but bragging rights mean nothing if you can't back them up.

columbia, brown, and penn. why? they each have really strong humanities departments, specifically dealing with ancient studies/archaeology, et cetera. besides, brown is one of the few schools in the entire country that offers an egyptology major.

At the most 4! And definitely not any more. (Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Brown)

It's only because I truly like those schools though..not because of the Ivy label. Except for maybe Harvard..

I got into Stanford SCEA but I'm still applying to Harvard, Yale and Brown.

I really love Yale and Brown, so I'm not applying there for the prestige. Harvard on the other hand, I'm applying just to see lol. I don't really like Harvard in particular but it's just one of those things. I don't know how to describe it. There's this certain expectancy, if you will, in our society for top students to apply to Harvard simply because it's Harvard. After fighting it for so long, I finally caved (besides, the supplement was ridiculously easy and stupid. Why is that?). Anyway, even if I get in I wouldn't go. My order of preference for schools is: Stanford, Yale, Brown, Harvard.

Agree with kROCK91. Ivy league schools aren't the best schools in the nations, but they have the prestige.

I got into UChicago EA, but I did Harvard, Yale and Dartmouth.

I'm applying to several ivies (6) but it's not because I just want to apply to ivies....it's because I want to apply to several schools in the top 20 to increase my chances of going to a good school...and that just happens to include a lot of ivies

I'm applying to Cornell, Yale, Dartmouth, Harvard, and Penn... but I like all of them. I, however, got deferred Cornell ED so I'm not too optimistic. Or optimistic at all. I had my Harvard interview today and it went spectacularly (1 hr 40 mins is a long time and it felt like 30). However, that's not going to get me into Harvard, so yeah. Not excited to receive 5 rejection letters in April.
Yay for rejection.

i also applied to five: HYP, Columbia and Dartmouth. I sincerely see myself going to any one of them!

I almost considered Dartmouth and Cornell...and one of them may be added but most likely not..although Dartmouth seems quite appealing

In my school..not all the top students apply to UPenn, Columbia or Yale but just about ALL of them apply to Harvard. Why? ....ohhhh just because it's Harvard.
If they're accepted (doesn't happen very often)..they'll probably go to Harvard even if they have NEVER thought about going there before...just because it's Harvard.

The better question is: who got into all the ivies besides me?
