I am going to apply to CMU this year, and if I get in, I'd like to major in CS at SCS and Computing and Information Technology at Tepper. I will be applying to SCS as my main school. Exactly how hard would this double major track be? Is it suicidal or ridiculous? I'd really appreciate it if someone had firsthand experience.

I can't tell from personal experience. But double majors in business are not unusual at all. Business courses are generally much easier than CS ones.

bump ... i am planning on doing the exact same .. any input would be nice.

It's doable. The business courses will say they take up a lot of credit-hours, but actual time spent on them will be much, much less. I'd say start with the intention of doing it, and if it gets too much use it as your minor, since all SCS students are required to have a minor.

Computer and Information Technology is a business major track and not a major - you would be majoring in Business

Information Systems is a major however - though it isn't technically in Tepper

You might also consider doing CS major with a Business minor then applying to the 5 yr MBA program. That way you would have a CS degree w/an MBA after 5 yrs rather than having a CS degree and a Business bachelors degree after 4 years. You don't hear that much about the acclerated MBA outside CMU but the program is there (though you have to apply in year 3 (or is it year 2?) and admissions is far from guaranteed).

edit: here is more info: BS Computer Science & MBA 3/2 Program : Tepper School of Business it might not be the best thing to plan to do as apparently you need a 3.5 in your junior year

Also you can look into Management Information Systems as a track inside Tepper, which is still ranked #1 by Us News.
