At first I was really hesitant about it, but after speaking with admissions officers and researching it, I think I'm going to do it. The only thing that's holding me back from immediately accepting is the cost.

I am, actually!
The costs were my main worry as well - obviously, not everyone can afford to pony up the full price tag for NYU, and no one wants to get a mountain of debt. I ended up working it out with my parents, giving them full disclosure about expected and unexpected costs, and we set up a plan that includes sharing some of the debt, me getting a summer job, and applying to as many scholarships as i can in the meantime in order to keep my graduating debt as far down as possible (it’s much easier to pay back my parents than a bank).
NYU is my dream school, so I think it’s worth it - however, if you can’t bridge the gap, it’s really difficult to make the decision! Definitely take into account your future major and how much that will bring in, if you plan to take a graduate program, etcetc. College is one of the biggest decisions of your life, and I believe you have to be happy in your environment in order to take full advantage of the experience. Good luck with your decision!
