^^ Perfectly worded.

anything over a 2300 is basically the same. so if you really want to retake it its cool, but what are you really trying to prove? and do you really have to tell people about it, are you really listening to their advice?

I can't believe people are seriously getting annoyed or upset at people like this guy. Just ignore the guy. By not being able to ignore him but rather getting annoyed by him (and it is usually those who scored lower), one is just proving how much more smarter the guy is and how much more stupid you are. It is really quite interesting, because the high scorer who wants to still retake the test wins again, by bringing down the rest of society around him to a lower level, while he stays cozy on top with a 2300+ and all the entertainment his heart desires from the stupidity of others blabbing on and on about how much they hate the guy while they can't do anything about it. JUST CHILL, CHILL , AND CHILL SOME MO, FOOLS! And if anything, let his arrogance spark the fire in you to do better, to work harder, and to score equally if not better than this guy. Peace.

These types of threads are stupid. Seriously, if you scored that high you're more than capable of making the decision for yourself without soliciting help from a forum.

makes me wanna slap someone.

I am new to this discussion, but usually when someone asks this question it is more of a "Check me out, losers" than anything sincere.

Hopefully, I am wrong.

Harvard hopeful:

To kids who are not getting those stratospheric scores, they may ask if you really meant to say "shouldn't you feel flattered that they are DEIGNING to ask your opinion? instead of "deeming"?

in response to the title: YES. something about knowing your score is in the 99th percentile should tell you that you do not need to take it again. and if you feel the need to take it again anyway, that's up to you. no one on this forum is going to care one way or another.

Hell I am. =.= I'll be happy with that score. :] I got 1420 went down to 1380. Ha ha ha! xP

Don't you realize that an SAT score under 2390 is a college admissions death warrant? I didn't retake my 2270, and I only got into Dartmouth, which is CLEARLY subpar. Now I'll never get to experience my dream of working eighty-hour weeks in a soulless corporate job on Wall Street. :( Don't let that happen to you!

hahahahaha right on

Guys you're all missing the point.

It's not about retaking a test.

It's about people who know they scored well and feign ignorance in order to brag/draw attention to their scores.

In that respect, yes it bothers me.

I agree with cbf88. A lot of CCers just want to brag that they hit or got above 2300.

I can't see why, what's so great about it (I mean bragging, not the geting a 2300+ part). Grrrr, it must be them cocky New Yorkers, GRRRR!

lol. F*&KING BRAGGING ABOUT 2300 WHEN THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE STRUGGLING JUST TO GET 2000. Shoot if you lived in my hometown, I would have shot you on your head.

I guess it is safe to assume you are apart of the "people who are struggling just to get 2000."

^That really shouldn't matter. It's still crass.

Yes Omg!!!!

Yes I am but not because I find it annoying- YET. But because I am an intl everytime someone goes oh I got 2340 should I retake, it makes me think, wait a sec, I swear that's pretty high, isn't 2400 the hightest you can get. And then some imbecile on the thread just have to say, oh by the way I got 3400 or 4000 and I am sort of leftover thinking, what the heck is the full score on the SAT? Jee anyway enough of me ranting. But still before I completely lose it, WHAT is the highest score someone can get overall on the SAT? and are those people talking about SAT I or SAT II?

The highest possible score on the SAT I is 2400 (800 each on Critical Reading, Math, and Writing).
