So i had my entire app complete (transc, recs, app, everything) submitted in late september, and now that it's getting closer to the first round of decisions I'm getting nervous. I feel confident the Michigan is maybe just a slight reach for me, but nonetheless nothing is said and done until decisions release. Anyone have any insider information as to when the first round might be released this year?

I had everything in Sept 30....I'm anxious, too! I heard the first round was the first week of November- that's what an admissions counselor told me, anyways. I've heard rumors of late October desicions, however....

don't be anxious
if you applied early, which you obviously have.
you have a very high percent chance of getting in. and remember they post the decision online. so you should check often.

i remember last year, the 1st batch was released in early Oct. i think.
the 2nd batch (mine) was the 1st week of November.

Would they post it online before you recieve it in the mail?

Typically, it's SUPPOSED to be online before you receive it in the mail (but it doesn't always work that way). And if you're deferred, then sometimes you'll hear in the mail first because they haven't actually made a decision on your application to post.

I had all my stuff in Second week of September, haven't heard yet.

everything got there by 9/16.. i really hope i'm in the first round of decisions :( i've heard back from state and uw-madison but the school i really care about is umich

hmm i'd say decisions should be up on monday or tuesday.
they are taking longer than they did last year.
mt522 i think you'll be in the first batch.

Do you guys know how frequently they come out after then?

I had everything in Sept 30, what round do you think I'll be in?

well, i dont think they'll release em today or tomorrow because UMich is on Fall break, which ends tomorrow. at the earliest some of you might hear on wednesday.
I dont know, thats just what i think.

but hell yeah! im anxious for decisions. im actually a transfer applicant, UMich is my dream school.

michiganfan911 you'll prolly be in the 1st group.
just keep checking i'd say twice a day-- 10 am and 6 pm should suffice.
i remember checking mine at school ~10 am, i think i might have also checked at home at ~6:30ish am before i left and it wasn't up then.
they won't send you an email, so look on wolverine access, thats where it'll be posted.

i am a transfer and i got my notice of admissions last week Friday at about 12:30 AM. I was checking all week and all day thursday. Checked around 11 PM and there was nothing but i then check at 12:30ish AM and there was a congrats on there. so i think they'll plug it into the system and it will just take some time to process - i've heard that it is every Monday and friday which they update the system.... but idk, don't take my word for it - they have what, 20K+ frosh apps to go through so idk how they will plug all the stuff into the system....

i heard that they post admissions on Fridays, every other week once they start sending them out

wow, thanks blackpen! Do you really think so? I'm excited now....

I had everything but the teacher rec in by Sept. 19th and the rec was processed on October 3, will I be first batch? Thanks!

i just gave all the forms to my school today. and i have a question. i am applying online, so the school only needs to send the teacher's and counselor's rec letters and my transcript to UM right? and i just need to fill out the online app and write the essays online and submit it right?

@psp-fifa-fan: You'll also need to have ACT and/or The College Board send U of M your test scores, if they're available. But other than that, yes, that's all.

Hmmm sent mine in on Sept 24 and processed on Sept 26. I hope I will be in the first batch as well! (or not)

Michigan State is quite a bit faster. I sent mine on Sept 23 and recieved a decision Oct 7.

My teacher didn't send my rec in until last week...sigh. I mean, they processed it on 10/17, but still, I know it's lateness isn't going to help me get in. And my app was in a month before that, too.
