that they've decided NOT to rip down new cabel. that building blows. hard. i mean i know it would never have affected me one way or another, but it is a miserable miserable building that needs to go--renovation or not.

I think it's a reasonable change in plans. It's going to cost around $80 million to gut the building (so it won't "blow") and rebuild the interior vs. $130 million to completely knock it down and build something else.

Dean J,

You're all about hating on me recently. I'm just trying to be a little playful on this website. I'm sure it will be nice when it's done, but that building is old and ugly and I just wish they would do what they said they would do and tear it down.

I wish they'd bulldoze Hereford, Gooch/Dillard, Lambeth and new dorms. I also wish they'd have a giant kegger for the implosion of U-Hall.

New dorms aren't half bad... Id much rather live there than old dorms.

amen cav. i'll bring the jungle juice as well.

side note: i'm sitting in Brown, wasting away studying CS while my roommate b!tches up a hurricane (yes, not just a storm, but a cat 5 hurricane!) about how much work she has and how her major is harder than the e-school blahblahblah (oh and im still ****ed about her waking me up, twice, last night while i asleep to turn on her light for 2min, then slam the door...hah, when i roll in at 2:30am tonight, she's gonna get a nice surprise.."what? oh, well, you turned on the light last night so i just assumed...". oh and i just suffered through a physics lab from he!!. anyways, the mental image of the kegger while watching uhall get demolished...well, lets just say it made my day.

haha you're in brown?
what happened to this board's meet up plan...
i'm upset, since i keep telling people they're knocking it down and now i can't do that anymore. i was soooooo excited for it to go. haha.
my real question is, where are classes going to be held while they're doing whatever they want to it - and the answer had better be monroe hall since that's right next to brown.

maybe they'll bring about the gasp grade-school trailers. hah.

and yes, brown is owning my life lately because i don't get crud done in my room and when i'm in my room, my roommate just flips out and it's annoying. that and brown water fountains are amazing and i'm drinking like a camel these days. (and water i mean, not alcohol...but maybe it's the latter that is causing the excessive drinking of h2o...or maybe the water-drinking is subconcious and it's the excessive amount that will let me say "oh i won't get dehydrated" and drink like a wahoo this weekend...)

i guess i'm one of those people who thought the whole point of the south lawn project was so they could rip down cabell so that jefferson's lawn would once again open to the blue ridge like it used to.

so on that note, and the fact that i've fallen down the stairs in new cabell too many times, i wish the building was going...

thank god. its ridiculous. the friggin stairs are like a giant slip and slide.
