Is anyone else getting bombarded with emails/letters from Columbia GS?

They have been all over me since August. I am flattered they seem to want me there, but I heard GS isn't worth the money at all, and is not as prestigious as regular Columbia degrees.

Anyone else getting contacted by them?
Anyone actually transfer/plan to transfer to Columbia GS?

I would love to go to Columbia, but I don't want to spend 50k a year for the next 2 years on a crappy degree.

"I don’t want to spend 50k a year for the next 2 years on a crappy degree. "

You earn the degree the same way the CC kids do.

I really should have worded that better.

I meant I do not want to spend 50k for the next 2 years IF GS IS a crappy degree.

My major question is, I hear a lot of hearsay about GS grads not getting the same level of respect and the degree is actually different. I am just trying to weigh if it is worth it to move to NYC and pursue the degree if it is not treated like a regular CC degree.

Where as I could stay in California and pay resident tuition at UCLA or Berkeley.

To be honest I really have no idea about GS, only what I have heard through the grapevine. I am just trying to do the due diligence and make an informed choice.

Let this be your guiding light :)

Looks like we’re both in the same position! I think it is ideal for people who are looking for a non traditional program. I work full time and will continue to do so once transferred, so going somewhere that is prestigious and understands the balance of work and school is very appealing to me.

And thanks Orson - the thread you linked to is really helpful!
