What I mean by this is if you're going to school with no one that you know. I personally am starting entirely new, which makes me nervous because I wont know ANYONE, but i'm just happy to start fresh again...i'll miss my old friends, though.

Just me and my dog. I won’t miss my old friends though, we talk enough over xbox live, pc, and get togethers.

I basically did. There was one person I knew who was going to my uni but i hadn’t seen him in years.

What made it easy is that my uni is close to where I grew up so it wasn’t hard to catch up with friends during breaks. Plus last year I had a buddy still in high school and a buddy at a local CC so we got to hang out.

I went into orientation knowing nobody. It’s really helped me break out of my shell and actually talk to people.

Well, several people from my high school went, but all of them (except one) are transferring. Having old friends wasn’t really a factor in my final college decision.

Some people from my high school are in some of Emory’s other graduating classes, but no one else from my high school is going to be in the incoming freshman class. =( My roommate and I have been Fb messaging back and forth for 2 months now, but other than that, I’m going in not knowing anybody. Definitely nervous.

I’m the only one from my high school going to college anywhere in Louisiana, which is over 2,000 miles away from home… I’m nervous but also kindof happy that I won’t have any “reputation” to keep up and can start with a clean slate (just in terms of what clothes I wear, who I hang out with, etc.)

i pretty much did and i prefer it that way. better making new friends especially since you get to start over completely.

Starting this year, I’ll be the only one I know in my school. I expect that trend to continue when I transfer.

I’m the first and only one from my school in at least 10 years to go to my college

About three people from my high school come to my university. I knew none of them in high school, nor did I really have a desire to.

So essentially, yes, I did. And I am glad for that =)

yep. stupid that this requires at least ten words in order to post a reply.

^
10 characters actually.

I was completely alone and I liked it just fine. I liked the complete social freedom it gave me, and even though I missed my old friends, it was really nice to have a fresh start.

I actually prefer to have absolutely no one I know from school to go to my college. But, sadly there’s this one other girl going to the same one as me. We’re not close in the least bit, but we’ve been to the same elementary school, middle school, and HS and I’d rather be solo. It’ll be a time for me to have a real fresh start, new reputation, etc. so no one can judge me for my past.

Two other girls from my school are going to the same university as I am, but I barely know either of them, so, in essence, yes. I’m excited to as well. I think it’ll be easier to meet people, make friends, and be myself.

I did. It was fine. I never even thought about it. You’ll make plenty of friends. I would have thought it was weird going to college with people I knew from high school.

I was one of two. The other was a girl in music that I saw maybe three times

Yes, really excited and nervous.

There are 8 people from my high school going to my college. It’s not really a big deal because we have such a huge freshman class (~2,800!) and a huge school so I will rarely see most of them. I only plan to see 2 friends who I know from previous hs classes often since they are in my same major, dorm, and have some similar classes lol. I don’t mind too much actually. At orientation, it was nice to see a familiar face, but I still met a lot of new people. I also wouldn’t mind being completely solo, but I’m pretty close to it so I’m good. (-: I would never want to attend my state university and one reason is because of the fact that half of the people attending are from my hs.
