Hate to rub it in, but I'm glad I thought about this whole money thing ahead of time (juniors--try your best!). I used the free score reports on the SAT. Also, I did my college research pretty early and am only applying to four schools. Test registration, visits, app fees have been a killer, so I had to save up, but that could've been so much worse.

I"m knd of lucky since I'm under the poverty level I don't have to pay for college applications. :)

Even though my family is financially secure, I decided to set my college app limit to 5 because I that's really all I need.

I've spent/will spend over $1000 when this is all over. How much over, I don't even want to think about it.

My parents are all paying for it, willingly. You may think I'm lucky...but they're also the reason I'm applying to 16 schools. Sigh.

This is why I work 40 hours a week. I envy rich kids.

Under the table? I know in Washington you can't work over 28, and that's with a special waiver.

Anyway, I'm applying to only two schools, and used the free score-sending from both the SAT and ACT. Test wise...I've taken the SATs twice, ACTs one, and three SAT IIs on one session. Not dirt cheap, but definitely not in the ~$1000 range.
