Is anyone else waiting to hear back from Fullerton? (CSUF) + other CSU's in early April?

I am dropping off my spiel from another forum and creating my own!

It’s April and I am worried because I have not been accepted and CSUF is my #1

Submitted: October 22nd
Major: Business Economics
Non-local, but close to the area
GPA: 3.18 (after fall) 3.28 (after AD-T bump) 2.98 (when I applied)
Major GPA: 3.86
Golden Four’s: 2 A’s, 2 B’s. Although one of the B’s was College Algebra and I got an A in Business Calc. Hoping that means something lol.
AD-T: Business Admin AND Economics. My CC told me I needed a Business Admin AD-T because they did not offer an Econ AD-T only later to find out they did after I had already submitted applications (was originally an Economics major), so I think my Business Admin degree is being applied not my Economics one. CSUF was unclear when I explained what happened and other Cal States removed my AD-T from the application altogether… but since Business Economics is technically a Business Admin major, not Economics, I think I am fine and have the AD-T for my application.

Other schools I applied too:

Cal States:
San Diego (denied)
San Francisco (admitted)
Sonoma (admitted)
Long Beach (admitted)
Cal Poly Pomona (admitted)
San Marcos (pending)
Chico (pending)

UC’s:
Davis (pending)
Santa Cruz (pending)
Santa Barbra (pending)

I am nervous I will not get in, but Business Economics is only offered at CSUF and CSULB. However, LB is an hour drive from me and make that +2 with morning LA traffic and driving back I would not make it to work. I am not trying to move out, pay rent and look for a new job to go to a school I do not really want to go to. I am debating Cal Poly because it is close but (1) I would be an Economics major (I have a Business Admin AD-T, University Studies-Bus & Technology Emphasis AA and I want to make use of the business classes I had to take) (2) I do not like the campus or area, I have lived in the I.E. forever and it would be nice to get away a little while still being able to live rent-free with my mom (3) Both my mom and sister attended there (which is a dumb reason to not want to attend, but it is a reason) (4) I am a business/econ major. CPP is a great school, but CSUF is better for my major. I am also debating a double major in applied mathematics when I transfer over.

My theory is that if I got into CSULB and CPP, then CSUF will most likely accept me, right? I know it depends partially on the applicants/impaction and my GPA is borderline with competitiveness for non-locals. It is already April 5th… Also the Waitlist box has been on my portal for a while, as well as the Orientation and Accept/Deny buttons. Does that mean anything?

Does anyone think I will get in? Or that I am qualified enough? I am a good student. I did bad my first year and a half (I have 6 C’s weighing me down…) because I didn’t care, but I have had straight A’s since last Spring. I wish they looked over upwards trends.

Anyone still waiting to hear back?

Hi! I applied to CSUF as transfer student and have not heard back either. I called them and was told they would be making their decisions some time in May…but this didn’t make sense because the Universal student decision date (to choose which college you will be officially attending) is May 1. I emailed my transfer counselor and she too said that what they told me doesn’t make much sense and suggested that if I have not heard anything by April 20, call the admissions office and ask for an update. Hope this helps a little : )

@CassBeachGirl17 thank you! Yeah, they are behind every year apparently from what I have seen through research. Everyone’s SIR is due May 1st, EXCEPT CSUF… there’s is June 1st haha

There’s a full thread of frustrated people in the CSU Fullerton forum on this subject
