just wondering

yea it hasn't been working since like noon-ish, for me and 2 friends at least.

yeah mine too

Mine asks me to "activate" my netid. I did that like 5x and the e-mail's still not working. SO annoying!

hah...good to know. I thought my account was deactivated b/c I graduated recently and I haven't yet set up a new e-mail account :-)

mine is working fine, FYI

Doesn't work for me either.

Yeah...think link above indicates the problem was resolved. But my account still isn't working.

Oh well...I went ahead and set up a Gmail account and am having Cornell forward my e-mail.

mine's not working either. If you go to the cit website and check the status of the networks and servers it says this:

On June 15, 2008, at 12:30PM, UNPLANNED Outage:

CIT Technical Support continue to investigate a service affecting issue with a number of SUN storage arrays. This is primarily affecting the Mail servers (Postoffice6,7,8,9, and 10) as well as library23 and library34. Users will be unable to receive and send electronic mail.
Thank you for your patience.

Technical staff continue to work with the vendor.

Estimated time to recover is unknown.

im mailbox 9 and it is working fine.

dewdrop, how have you been able to do that? ive been trying to get my gmail account to also receive my cornell mail but i have no idea what im doing

go to whoiam.cornell.edu and click on the tab that says Electronic Mail then select option #3 "I would like my electronic mail to go to some other account, or I would like it to go to more than one place. Please send my mail to the addresses listed here."

Then enter your gmail address in the box and be sure to save the changes. I took a minute or 2 for the changes to apply.

Mine is still not working...

Yeah...same here

it might have to do with the fact that they are posting housing assignments about now and a lot of people are trying to sign in.

I doubt that. It's been down since yesterday at noon. I think the problem lies with the post office servers and that wouldn't affect the housing database.

Another update from CIT:

Basically....those with post office 9 & 10 are fine and there are still problems with post office 6-8.

I think I'm 7. :( I haaate this I can't go this long w/out checking email :(

Yeah...I'm post office 7 as well.

Just have to be patient...if you have another e-mail you should have Cornell forward your e-mail for the time being.
