I know that the admissions process takes a while because of the huge pool of applicants, so I’m trying my best to be patient, but it sure is wearing thin. I applied to Temple on the first or second of October, and I’ve yet to receive any decision. The portal said that it should take four to eight weeks, so when it hit the ten and eleven week mark, I became pretty antsy. Anyone else having similar issues with the Temple admissions process, or is it just me? Should I contact the admissions office? Thanks!
Yeah, October 31st for me. This is taking forever.
App complete November 1 for S. Still nothing. Portal used to say 4-8 weeks for decision and now has changed to “in excess of 8 weeks”
They are obviously not doing a first in first out rollling admissions. My son applied Dec 29 and received admission on Jan 4. Have not heard about scholarship yet.

My son’s application was received on October 31st, and he is still awaiting a decision.
I called Temple Monday and was told that I should hear something by the end of February…what??? That’s way more than 8-10 weeks from October 31st…
Did any of you who are still waiting apply early action? If so, you should have heard by now, and you probably should call the office. (The website says EA applicants should hear by Jan. 10.) I think rolling admissions applications are usually reviewed after EA applications, even if the applications are submitted before Nov. 1. The exception seems to be very high stats applicants. So maybe the 4-8 weeks means 4-8 weeks after Jan. 10. You could call to clarify the procedure.
I got my acceptance from temple on jan 11, so I guess all it took was me to complain a little about the wait online for them to finally send me something! Good luck to everyone else and I hope you find out soon.
@KitandKaboodle were you early action by chance? I applied rolling and was told by the guy in the office that the rolling admissions for Fall 17 wouldn’t hear back until the end of February.
I’m 95% sure that I just applied rolling, so I don’t know what that’s about. I’ve heard some of my friends who applied rolling to temple got accepted already too, so I feel like that can’t be the case.
I applied as a transfer student, with my application being complete on the 5th of January. I know I haven’t been waiting as long as some of you, but the transfer page says decisions should be made within two weeks, and it has been 14 days. This is especially worrying to me because my boyfriend had a very similar application as me, except he was applying for spring semester and he’s out of state, and he got accepted within 24 hours when he applied a year and a half ago. The waiting is just allowing the anxiety to fester at this point.
I feel your pain, but I’m sure you’ll get an answer soon, if you haven’t yet. I would just try calling to see what’s going on. Maybe they’re missing something from you that they need and you just didn’t realize or something. Best of luck!
@NotSteveBuscemi I was told by two people in the Admissions Office when I called that the transfer applications take a backseat to incoming high school applications. Both folks told me that transfer applicants might not hear back until the end of February.
I applied as an in-state transfer on January 1 and initially the wait time said something like around four and up to 8 weeks, but now its changed to “more than 8 weeks”. The suspense is maddening, its all I think about!
@philamk tell me about it. I received notification last Friday that they needed my Fall 16 grades which is fine. I got them sent in within 10 minutes from the request. I called back this passed Tuesday and was told that it can now take another eight plus weeks…
I just got my acceptance email! I submitted the online app on January 1 (transfer student) and sent my college transcript around the 10th. I sent in two letters of recommendation and proof of honor’s society memberships around the 25th maybe, and I heard back this morning, yay! I must have gotten lucky, for apparently people who applied much sooner are still waiting. I’m sure it won’t be long now! Keep your heads up!!
Congrats!!!
