Is anyone from 2nd notification period still waiting to hear? Have any postponed students heard yet?

Still waiting on my decision
I was originally postponed
OOS with a 4.18 weighted (3.6 unweighted) GPA and a 31 on ACT
Do you all think I’ll hear soon?

I just got weightlisted… Can anyone give me some info on that?

ACT: 28
GPA: 3.55

I don’t understand.

No one can really know what is going on in the minds of the admissions counselors when they review your application. They just do not have room for every qualified candidate that wants to go to UW Madison. @omadious

@Omadious‌ Are you out of state?

Nope, born and raised in Wisconsin.

It surprises me that you were waitlisted especially because of your in state status. Makes me worried about my own OOS chances. Did you show interest? Spend time on your essays? Submit letters of rec? Anything could be the culprit

One of my son’s friends (we’re local in Madison) was admitted yesterday and another was waitlisted.

I’ve been trying to find out more about the waitlist for this kid. UW does not put the waitlist info into their CDS, unfortunately.

Combing through old news articles I can see that in
yr/admitted/waitlist total.
2008/800/?.
2009/600/?.
2010/0/?.
2011/179/1365.
I can’t find #s for the past 3 years, but in '12 and '13 the list was closed first week of May, so I suppose they admitted very few. Last year it closed mid-June so they may have admitted more. I suppose just have to call admissions and ask for numbers, unless someone here has more info. Anybody?

I think after the initial admittance of top students there is a big log jam of students with similar stats and how they narrow it down and what makes an acceptance over a rejection is a mystery.

still waiting, oos (IL)

This wait is sucking the life out of me
