How do you begin being a paid SAT tutor in High School? Do you just post an ad in the newspaper and wait for emails to flood in? Do you need to belong to a certain clique or have "connections" in high places?

Will it affect how people look of you if you're below Junior year and younger than most other people you tutor?

Is it better or worse to tutor someone from your own school?

Sorry for these questions I'm just really underinformed... :/ (2370 here)

I’ve tutored two students in the SATs, and I’m going to begin tutoring another girl in a week or so.
It’s all about connections. My mom knew another mom whose daughter needed an SAT tutor, and I was a low cost option who proved that he at least knew what he was doing (2250). I did relatively well with her, and another mom of a girl on her softball team happened to need tutoring. Her score improved quite a bit, which got me another student (who happened to drop a few sessions in because her parents decided she needed a more trained tutor) and the student I’m going to begin tutoring about a week from now. Also, one of the girls needed tutoring in Pre-Calc, so I got her back after she was done with that for more money. This all said, an ad might work, but I’ve never needed one.
Score>>>>Grade. If you can take the test, that’s all people care about. In real life, people tend to care more what you can do for them rather than how old you are.
Doesn’t particularly matter. I’ve tutored people from my school and from different schools, and it tends to go the same regardless.
But yeah, I’d go for it, ESPECIALLY with a 2370. You can make well over minimum wage, which is great, especially for someone who can only work with working papers.
