Is anyone here submitting recommendations from high school teachers?

My grades from my first two years of high school are not great (my transcript demonstrates a strong upward trend), so I thought it might be helpful to submit an additional recommendation from one of my 11th/12th grade teachers. Does this make sense? Or would it be a waste of time?

I think a few schools accept high school recs, I remember reading that northwestern does. Most schools however does not accept them.

I usually recommend sending only 1 additional supplemental LOR above the number required. HS is fine as long as it’s a supplemental or OK with the college.

i will be sending one. only send them if you know that they are good quality recs/ i wouldn’t send bad ones

I am, though it is to supplement the Secondary School Report; I have no relationship whatsoever with my secondary school counselor, so the teacher reference will be used in place of counselor comments on my high school activities and character.

Is it common to use a recommendation from a teacher in lieu of a counselor on the SSR report?

I have a friend that was in an accident so their abilities in studying, focusing, retaining are not as good as they were in high school, for the moment. Ok to use a high school recommendation along with college to show how good a student they were while they go through the healing process?

I come from a Canadian high school, justina11. I had absolutely no relationship with the counselor I was assigned to for high school. Thus, rather than a bland secondary school report that provides no evidence of my character, I will be attaching a recommendation letter from a teacher I still keep in contact with. I feel that is the most thorough and substantial way for admission officers to evaluate my soft traits.
