When are auditions? How hard is it to get in? Violin has been a hobby of mine for seven years and I was wondering what the chances are of getting in section II (I’m not a music major; I just want to continue as a hobby).

I would like to know as well. Is the orchestra’s skill level advanced and competitive or is it more relaxed and average?

Dear kimisizer : The advanced ensembles (those which require auditions) are highly competitive. Expect that many of the musicians will have played at the county, state, or regional levels.
