I thought it might be helpful (since this forum is about prep schools and school starts soon) to start a thread about this topic. If you already attend a private school or have been through this already, maybe just give some advice. Thanks!

My son enrolled and arrived at a BS for the first time ever just about this time last year. The school was 1000 miles away from his home. For the first two or three days at school, he was miserable and proclaimed that he had made the biggest mistake of his life. Once classes started and he began to get into the daily routine at BS, he soon fell in love with the school, the teachers, the classes, the kids, etc.

There is no surprise that many new kids will be nervous, if not sick, over entering a BS for the first time. Just hang in there. The illness will pass soon, and the fun and love will then follow.

Well I’m not exactly nervous about boarding school itself, but the thought of leaving home already makes me sad. Anyone feel the same way?
