Is anyone regretting the choice?

U-Chicago just gave me an acceptance letter. But Yeah Cornell ED is binding. I am not saying that I am not satisfied in coming to Cornell next year, just wondering how many ED acceptees have also got accepted to U-Chicago and what are u thoughts? Would u choose U-Chicago if Cornell is not binding?

hey im not an applicant or anything...but i thinkits natural to be like whoa...i got accepted here annnndd here ...maybe i couldve gone to "uchicago" in your case...but i think when you made your choice to apply cornell you knew what you were gettnig yourself into and therefore cornell is the right place for you...anyway maybe acceptance from uofc means guaranteed transfer next year if cornell doesnt work out.??? i mean i dont know just sayin maybe

It probably won't be long before a ton of posters roast u for not being sure u wanted to go here before accepting a binding ED...blah..blah...blah. But in all honesty, I think everyone (including me) has some "doubts" like you do since we are bound to one school and we have almost no power to change it. But Cornell's not a bad place to be "forced" to go to :).

No, I am perfectly happy with what I have got this far. LIke u said, everyone must have some doubt. ~

Don't start with the "what ifs" or you'll go crazy, like me. Cornell is ivy, its superficial, yea, but that would erase all my doubts.

I was working hard on my UChicago application before Dec 14th. I just hope I get that Cornell acceptance letter in the mail soon so I don't regret not completing the chicago apps.

i wont regret because Cornell is always my first choice and i got in now...
plus i am really surprise and glad that i got in!!!!

wow, i'm so glad someone else feels this way.
i was scared to start a thread cuz i thought a mob would like hate me for it
but yea, i'm satisfied with cornell, but i've always wondered what my limits were, if i had the ability to go to HYP-- now i guess i'll never know

mz16, every person who ever got married felt the exact same way when he/she woke up the day after the wedding.

haha, at least I am brave enough to speak up my thought. yeah, greed is one of human's central flaws.

I know I'm going to get shot for it too, but yeah, I'm feeling a little less elated. Part of me is really happy with Cornell -- and I know that once I go there, I'll love it and not look back -- but since I applied as a junior, I didn't apply to my absolute first choice, Harvard. I mean, part of me will always wonder if I could have gotten in had I waited another year.....but yeah, I know I'm lucky to have gotten in, and I don't want to be a prestige whore. (I really, really did love Harvard, though; I spent a few months there the past summer.)

I might not be able to even go though, if I don't get enough financial aid. Which ****es me off, because I won't know until around Jan. 1, and then it'll be too late for RD applications. I guess, worse comes to worst, I just stick out another year of high school and apply to my dreams. (But I'd really, really like Cornell to work out...) I'm worried and stressed, though; like, I can't afford to get A-s if I'm not going to Cornell for sure. Just, AHHH!

boijia... enjoy cornell and apply to harvard for grad school...

idk... i'm happy with cornell... it offers pheonomental opportunities... some that no other university can offer...

Would you choose Cornell over Upenn? I choose Cornell over Upenn for early decision. I dunno if I should regret the choice.

i wouldn't choose Cornell over Penn. They're about equal in prestige and a plus is the city of philly, but a con is the location in a dirty part of the city.

Why wouldn't you choose Cornell over Penn? Which school is more highly regarded?

if ur feeling this now, ur gonna be feeling worse come 9 months from now...

if u reallly want to go to Chicago, u can still go, u can get out of ur ED contract if cornell is really not the right school for u, however, this is usually for financial reasons, and u did apply ED knowing it was "relatively" binding

i would choose cornell over penn... and i did... its personal preference though... i preferred cornell's location and i love the PAM major... which only cornell has... but thats just me

i would choose penn over cornell. haha, well, i did, obviously. but, i really do love cornell too. it came down to the isolation of cornell, the ridiculous weather, the way too large size of cornell vs. the ppe major at penn, the proximity to a city (yay, phili!), and, in the end, just seeing myself more at penn. it really is a matter of personal preference.

is cornell a goood feeder school to grad schools? they (the grad schools) will know the course load at cornell pretty well right?

Penn is better if you want a job on wall street. Cornell is better for hard sciences. However, you really do not lose anything by choosing one over the other. I am starting to feel like Chicago, NU, Michigan, or Cornell may be better fits for me than Penn. Aside from Chicago, the other colleges are in much safer areas. Everyone feels "what if" after they commit to one college. In the end everything works out well, and this decision to go to X over Y is insignificant.

Hansen, Cornell is great at getting kids into grad school. It's an Ivy League, that should have answered your question right there ;)
