Is anyone who get admitted not going to attend?

No, you can’t appeal to get into Duke. Here’s an EXTREME example of a guy who get deferred from ED from Duke and then rejected.

[A dream deferred | The Chronicle](A dream deferred - The Chronicle)

After getting rejected, he called admissions. When that wasn’t enough, he moved down to Durham just off Duke’s campus for 10 weeks, visited the admissions office daily, bringing them cookies and writing to the admissions director what he learned from Duke every week.

After 9 weeks, he was FINALLY able to secure a meeting with Guttentag, but was still rejected. Having no choice, he enrolled as a freshman at Emory, did well, and then realized his dream by transferring to Duke as a sophomore!

wow! ^for all of that he was STILL rejected?! sheesh! at least he was determined in the end :)

I think he should have been accepted.

(I’m ready to defend my statement since I know people will think differently!)

Me too, although maybe Duke admissions didn’t want to give the impression that if you give them cookies you will be accepted.

Oh man. I want to find this guy in September and give him a big ass high five. Cookies…that’s just CLASSY.

that’s an awesome story! i could never do that!!
