Is AP Art History too hard for a sophomore?

I'm registered to take this sophomore year, along with AP European history. My counselor said that I'd be the only sophomore in the class since the class is usually for juniors and seniors. She said I could take it if I was motivated enough and said that the class wouldn't be as hard as AP Euro but the AP test would be quite difficult, so I'm really nervous lol.. Do you think I can pass with an A and get hopefully a 4 if I'm really motivated? I'm taking 3 honors classes along with my 2 AP's, so I guess this year's going to be really challenging

Thanks :)

I was in literally the identical situation. I took AP Euro (traditional sophomore class) and AP art history as the only sophomore. AP Euro’s reading was probably five times harder than ap art history. However, the tests were pretty challenging because the material was rather random so sometimes I would get a 100 and sometimes I’d get a 68. I took released exams and easily scored 5’s on all of them, however, on the actual exam, the multiple choice killed me and I ended up getting a 4 which is still pretty good. In the end, I had way too much reading, most of which I never actually finished and i certainly don’t plan on taking two history classes again. But, it wasn’t that overwhelmingly hard and the material was fascinating, so I would recommend it.

I took it freshman year and it was a lot of work, but to each his own.

i took it sophomore year and did fine. I got an A both semester and a 4 on the exam. Definitely doable

Thanks everyone! I’m a lot less nervous now
any other opinions?

As long as you’re diligent and you work hard you’ll be fine.
