Is AP English "Necessary" to get Accepted into MIT?

<p>I excel in math and science and love both subjects, but I hate AP english and I really want to drop it, but I really want to go to MIT... any advice?</p>

<p>No, AP English isn’t necessary for acceptance to MIT. MIT does recommend four years of high school English, though.</p>
