is ap environmental science easy?

i was just wondering if ap environmental science is easy as everyone says it is? is that true? i am a sphmore and i was wondering of taking ap environmental science next year. i had the highest grade in chemistry and biology in all of my teacher's classes. around 98- 100%. will it be easy for me? help.

yes.....(10characters)

unless your teacher piles on busy work, it would be easy. Why not take something more challenging, however, such as AP Chem or AP Bio or physics?

it will actually make you dumber

You should post that question here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=582

I find it very easy but also VERY worthwhile. I honestly will have no use for AP Bio or AP Chem in my life (intended IR major)- APES weaves in beautifully with my history heavy course of study.

I actually took the course, and found the material very easy. But, my teacher flooded us with busy work and sometimes graded us on somewhat arbitrary standards, so as a class I can't say that it was really easy. If you've done well in your previous science classes and you aren't really that interested in environmental science, I'd go for something more challenging or at least something more solid/precise like physics. In hindsight, I don't think that it was a bad course, though.

my teacher was not very good for this course-- hence it was both easy and pointless

Yes, it's easy.

I had some trouble with it, but there's nothing fundementally hard about ap enviro. Just like AP Econ. Nothing fundamentally hard about it, but some people don't do well. Difference between ap econ and ap enviro? I get As in ap econ.

It was really easy, just memorizing basic facts (the answer for population vs. consumption is almost always 3% to 42% or somewhere in that ballpark as I figured out). It's really odd how it has such a dismal rate of passing (49.XX%) and such a low number of 5s (9%). I guess a lot of people thought it was more push-overish than it is.

not exactly "easy/blow off" in my school b/c teacher writes hard tests. i actually love the class (and is now thinking about majoring in ES) but if it's not your thing...

a lot of it is also common-sense/looking at the world around you

It really depends on the teacher. There's a lot of material and percentaged to memorize, and its kind of like poli sci, econ, stats, bio, and chem all splooched together into one course.
A word of caution: this course tends to attract very liberal teachers, so your course may end up a solid perios of Bush bashing.

omg, you have no idea how many hours i played pokemon pinball in my environmental ap class and still got an A, respectively. definitely take the class; you get to do labs on mud and algae! haha

i took the test with out taking the class, or studying at all, and got a 5. easiest test ive ever taken, even easier than ap bio.

if you take a look at collegeboard sample questions right now, you'd probably be able to get 9/10 right

My school doesn't offer AP Environmental Science, but I was able to enroll in the IB Environmental Systems class (except on my transcripts it simply reads environmental systems), but I do plan to take the AP test, with a bit of selfstudy. Definitely the easiest science class by far. Our tests are usually taken from IB exams, though, so I can't comment on how it really compares to AP.

I’m doing the same thing as the person who posted above me. My school only offers IB Environmental Systems and Societies, but I’m taking the AP Environmental exam. There are some discrepancies between the two curriculums, so I’m doing a lot of studying on my own. But as a whole, the subject material is quite simple to grasp. Try picking up the Barron’s AP Environmental Science flashcards or help-book and use them alongside your textbook.

At my school- yes it is a HARD *** class. Teacher is insane.
I’ve taken plenty of practice tests though and have gotten AWESOME scores…so it’s just my class at school that is tough…class average is a C…and EVERYONE studies…
