Is AP Government/AP Economics and/or AP English Literature Worth it?

I’m wondering whether I should take AP Government/AP Economics and/or AP English Literature this coming year?

I will be a senior in high school and I’ve taken AP Euro sophomore year and AP US History Junior year, so I’m accustomed to AP history classes. Also, I’ve been in honors English the past three years of high school. I’m “eh” when it comes to history, I’ve gotten Bs in those classes and received a 3 on both exams. As for English, I’ve gotten As in all of my classes but I’m afraid that AP English will be extremely difficult, as I’ve heard that the teacher is very strict and assigns a lot of workload. I’m not the kind of student who disregards the assigned books and skims through sparknotes, so I actually read the books but brush up on it with sparknotes if needed.

I’m worried that I will be overloading myself with too many APs but I am also afraid that I will also be “underworking” myself because I know colleges want students who take rigorous courses. Also, I’m not the kind to believe that you should ONLY take an AP class if it involves with your major (unless totally necessary of course).

As of now, the list of classes I plan to take are: AP Calculus BC, Anatomy, AP Spanish, and Yearbook.

I’m interested in becoming a surgeon, something in the film industry, or something art related (eclectic, I know) so I don’t necessarily have a particular subject to pursue so much.

If ever, should I take AP Gov/AP Econ and/or AP English?

Take it if it interests you and you think you can handle it. Remember taking an AP course is also more than about just about your major, it is also about enriching yourself with new ideas and you can also receive course credit for the ones you complete successfully
