Is applying early important for non-auto admit students

If I apply late, I can get teachers' recommendations or maybe I can retake the SAT. Since UT doesn't have rolling admission, does it matter for review students?

And chance me please!

And another question. Does UT admit you into the University first, then specific college, or reverse?
Any comments are appreciated:)

I believe ApplyTexas has an option when you can submit your application very early but include a later (future) date for test scores if you want to retake tests.

With automatic admission you are admitted to UT first, after that colleges go through holistic review. If you are not auto admit, I am not sure how it works.

Be sure to write essay S.

I think the official line is that applying early doesn’t help. However, as YAYA pointed out you have the option of updating scores later, so no downside to early application. Besides, honors and scholarships have October dealines anyway.

I have heard that applying early DOES help.
