Is applying to too many bad?

Hello,

Can someone PLEASE inform me if applying to too many colleges is disadvantageous?

I'm currently applying to 20 colleges.
Half are Ivy League and highly selective schools.
I was thinking of just trying since it's my one and only chance to apply to colleges. However, I noticed that I need to list all of colleges that I apply when I'm applying.

Is it disadvantageous?
Can someone please help me?

What do you mean list? Colleges dont see what other ones you're applying to unless you tell them.

I'd say 20 is a good amount in general since most are apparently ivies, as people who apply to all of them and are qualified usually get into a few of them while they may have been rejected when applying to just one.

Don't let people tell you it's too much; it's your future, and the only reason people would tell you not to apply to as many is because "lol application fees lolerian00b", which is retarded because $500 more isn't going to make a big difference in life. The workload? Just a few more hours filling out information that's on every other application as well. Compared to the rest of your life? It's a good investement.

It's a good choice I'd say.

Twenty? Wow. It's certainly not unusual on CC, but it's a lot.

If you have a legitimately good reason for every one, 20 is fine. If not, you need to seriously think about whether you can see yourself at each of these schools.

do u have enough time to apply to twenty schools? i hope you've done the majority of them already, seeing as most deadlines are in a month and a half. i mean think of all the essays you have to write.
