I don’t care if it is or not, but I know that it used to be and I’ve heard that recently it has become a dry campus. I was just wondering if this is true or not and if there are still lots of parties so I can walk in knowing what to expect.

yes

ASU is officially a dry campus.

But in reality its a very large state school, so yes, it does still draws the distinction of being known and held up as a party school, it’s no different from any other state school, dry campus means, with all due respect, absolutely nothing to anyone, let alone any freshman at manzi or hassy or barrett nothing. I know freshman who have had 4 MiP’s in one semester, behold the MLK Black party!

On the other hand, the fact that Englishman knows so many students with Minor in Possession charges shows that the school and the community does take enforcement seriously. This isn’t high school and no one is going to be checking your dorm room for contraband. Kids do drink in the dorms and most probably don’t get caught, but according to my daughter, the large loud parties are off campus.

My kid is soon going to visit Barrett. I’ve been telling him that if kids get caught drinking, they could lose their scholarship. Am I right?

^ We were told that when we visited last year. In reality, I doubt that they would yank the scholarship the first time, but there probably would be a probationary period and required counseling or alcohol awareness training.

Honestly, every school can be a party school if that’s what your looking for. ASU is a dry campus, but with so many students, you can find a party if you want to.

its still a party school. (about 200 parties a weekend.)

people do drink/smoke weed/do drugs/fool around in the public/private areas on campus. (check out ASU confessions.)

the craziest parties are always off campus.

you have to get 2 MIC’s before they will even consider yanking your scholarship (but do not mess around with weed.)
