Is art school good for art history

Well, I got into SAIC and was going to major in drawing/painting but now I'm really leaning more towards art history. I did a search online for the best colleges for art history and SAIC isn't on it. Do you think SAIC would be a good school to major in art history or should I transfer if that's really what I decide to do?

whatelse are you interested in?
far as I know it is one of better school to do brain works regarding art.
having that museum right there have to do you good, since most usual AH classes are looking at slides and sleeping on it.
what rankings are you looking at?
in other words, do you have numbers and are happy going to school like Williams for real?

I was also interested in architecture but I don’t care anymore. I don’t remember what rankings I was looking at but I remember some of the schools on it like NYU, University of Chicago, schools like that. If those schools are best for art history, I could learn to be happy.

It seems as if because you are interested in a number of areas, SAIC might be the best school for you – since you can “concentrate” in a number of disciplines, the museum IS amazing and completely accessible to students. What other schools are you considering? All art schools or LAC as well?

far as I know SAIC looks at kids’ works in different way than other art schools, like, goody goody techy scholastic portfolio type works won’t always give you big scholarship money like more conventional schools would instantly do.
if that is the reason you are quitting studio and thinking the school is not good match to you, you might want to change that mindset before going there if you decided to go.
don’t quit using hands whatever you do. I believe it helps you in many many many way whatever you choose to study.
