<p>firapira, are you kidding me? yes im asian but that doesn’t mean i am studying something i already know. you need to take an ethnic studies course to see the significance of these classes.</p>

<p>I also took 16 units of Engineering and an R&C last year. Far and away, my R&C was the easiest. </p>
<p>I guess, at least for me, the trick to humanities is as follows. Your grade is essentially split between some number of essays (its been 3 for me). Come up with a reasonable outline/draft ahead of time, show it to the instructor, incorporate her comments, and there is no way really that you should be getting anything less than an A-.</p>
<p>My comments still stand in that Humanities depts. have way way more generous curves than EECS (both UD, and LD). Then there are issues like you can’t P/NP technical classes, etc. In my dept. people take humanities classes if they want a chill semester. I guess as an EECS premed, its just frustrating…</p>
<p>And as for Asia, YMMV, but in China, Berkeley is really well known because of its Engineering (and other technical majors).</p>
