My attendance hasn’t been that bad. I’ve only missed 4 full days, and I’ve been excused from zero period like 6 times? Will colleges be looking at that or not? Also, it says that I have like 4 truancies? I looked up the definition it’s “the action of staying away from school without good reason; absenteeism” but like I’ve only missed school cause i was way too sick or had a doctor/dentist appointment… how does someone get marked a truancy? Thank you
Some schools do put attendance on your transcript, but I don’t think the vast majority do. Because transcripts vary by high school, you should ask your guidance counselor. Either way, your school attendance is not going to be factored into your college admission decisions.
I’ve never seen a transcript that mentions attendance. Can’t you just ask your school for a copy of your transcript so you can see for yourself?
The point is moot. Even if your “truancies” are on your record, you’re a cash cow for potentially a quarter of a million dollars. They won’t say no to you because of that.
Colleges want to know: Would you succeed at their college?
If you missed 30 days then that says you are sick or don’t want to attend school.
4 days is nothing. As long as you are under what your HS allows, you are fine.
My school doesn’t. If it was really a problem (which in your case, it isn’t) your GC would write about it in your letter of rec. GCs want to colleges to know if a student cuts class regularly, but they realize it’s normal to miss school here and there due to sickness, college visits, etc. and won’t bother mentioning it. You’ll be fine.
I don’t think most transcripts have attendance. And remember, some students never attend-they are home schooled or enrolled in internet programs. Other students miss a lot of school for special programs or other reasons. I don’t think colleges consider that information even if it is listed. I wouldn’t worry about it.
