I know BC is a great school, in terms of just about every category (academics, sports, social, etc.) but does the social scene revolve around getting trashed?

well my friends that are going to the university of florida or florida state would probably laugh at me if i told them bc was a party school. i will be going there next year and i think bc is no different than any college across the country. drinking will definitly be there but i doubt you have to drink to fit in. bc seems to be a very fun school that the kids work hard but also party too. i think it will be a good mix, dont worry.

Somewhat, it's there if you want it to be.

I know it's there, but does it dominate the social scene?

With the exception of military and religious schools, any college can be labeled a party school. Do what you want and find friends with similar interests. No one has to party if they don't want to.....

not totally....BC's too big of a school to have just one social group of people that get trashed all the time...BC kids are well rounded...and do tons of activities that don't involve drinking...but of course, there are amazing parties...especially marathon monday day, st patricks day, and around big sporting events...

There are some good parties at BC but the really good parties are at the MIT frat houses. Most BC "parties" consist of a few people sitting in someones dorm room and getting trashed. That definitely is not all there is to do at BC though. I know many people who go out into Boston on the weekends and many who just like to hang around watching movies or playing video games. There is something for everyone.
