Is being admitted for spring lame?

Hey guys-- sorry about the blunt title haha,

So don't get me wrong-- I'm happy to be admitted at all.
But I'm just wondering, what is a Spring Admit? I mean, what differentiates those who have been admitted for the Spring from those who have been admitted from the Fall? Looking around, I've seen a lot of people state that Spring Admits typically have much lower stats. I have a hard time believing this, though. I've also seen people call Spring Admission the equivalent to a waiting list.

So basically, does being a Spring Admit mean anything in particular?

it means that they dont have room for you to come in august. And after kids dropout, go abroad, transfer etc they will have room for you.
You wont have as much of a connection with the other kids and you will live with other spring admits. But your in! so congrats

I got in for the spring semester too, but I’m still really happy. If you’re a guy, I’ll room with you hahah

its hard to swallow at first, im a spring admit too… but hey, i just got accepted to one of the most prestigious universities in the country. i am gonna be a trojan

exactly how I feel, ahughes01

I’m pretty bummed out myself but I can’t help but feel proud that I can be a part of the Trojan Family! I just don’t like the fact that we won’t interact much with the rest of the fall admits, but I’m still very thankful for getting into USC. We’ll merge with the rest eventually!

It’s not bad at all now that I think about it. You basically have an extended summer vacation and you can still get credits out of the way with AP’s and some basic classes at county college or something. I just have to wait for my aid package

being admitted at all is awesome. dont take it for granted
