It depends on the school. Some will meet financial need, others won’t. Generally, the more prestigious the school, the more generous they tend to be with financial aid. Princeton, for instance, will pay everything if your family makes under 100k a year…but good luck getting in to THAT school.

If you’re a top student, a full ride scholarship is your best bet if you’re low income. They love socioeconomic disadvantaged, adversity-overcoming students. For those, you have to apply school by school.
