Hi guys! I'm right now on my second semester of Freshman year and I came in Pre-Med. However, I messed up my GPA last semester and I'm a little worried. How important is first semester freshman year to the application committee? If I manage to keep a high GPA for the rest of my college career, would I still have a chance, or should I stop trying?

You have 7/8 of your college years to keep improving your gpa.

If you want it, work at it

college is not high school and medical schools know this. Freshman year, especially first semester is a time of adjustments. Do very well from this point on and I doubt it will be an issue.

Talk to the premed adviser at your school.
