Is it worth it interms of how easy it is to get a steady job an a decent salary. Also, job security? If not, what engineering major do you recommend?
Unlike conventional engineering degrees, w biomedical u need a graduate degree to really do something with it.
I don’t think it (a B.S.) is worth it. Why not just do Chemical Engineering and supplement your transcript with additional chemistry or biology coursework.
At many schools, the starting salary of BME majors is on par with all other engineering disciplines. Their job roles tend to be less technical, but they don’t seem to have any issue finding roles in the healthcare industry. If you want a job that is truly about engineering biomedical devices, you’d likely need an advanced degree.

yeah but i heard that the pay isnt that great and only getts decent if you are able to find a job after grad school??? where as computer science/engineering its really easy to get decent pay fast???
There are certainly other majors with better job prospects. If that’s your only criteria in picking a major, then sure, CompE or CompSci would be better. To my knowledge, biomedical engineering is expected to be the fastest growing engineering sector over the next few years.
