I am currently a high school junior. I have a 3.5 unweighted gpa. My PSAT scores converted to a 1700 (that test was not studied for). I will be taking the SATs in march and will be prepared to take that test.

ECs so far in high school....

Student council 3 years
Varsity lacrosse 3 years (captain junior year, hopefully senior year too)
Winter track 2 years
Cross country 1 year
Global cause 2 years (raise money to support 2 children in Uganda)

A 3.5 UW GPA is good. If you get your SAT to around 1900-2000, you’ll probably get in.

If SATs don’t work out that well for you, there’s always the ACT! I personally think it’s so much easier, but it varies among the person. You have a good chance though, keep up the good work!

I agree with Rolando4. I found the ACT to be MUCH easier, but I also know people who thought it was much harder. I would definitely say that you should take both and choose to send the better one. My ACT score was so much better (the equivalent of 200 points higher) than my SAT, so I only sent my ACT score, for example. I don’t remember what BU’s requirements are for SAT subject tests, but don’t forget to look into those as well! Your GPA is solid, I think you definitely have a shot :)

Thanks for the help! Does anyone know if they give decent financial aid? I’ve heard its awful. That scares me because BU has been my top choice for almost 3 years now.

Then it’s time for a new first choice because, yes, it’s a reach and it is not good with id. BU does not meet eed or mst, and those who it does meet need for are at the top of their academic or athletic pool or provide diversity they’re seeking.

You are in a tricky zone if you need much aid. Your stats are probably too low or schools that meet need and are also unlikely to attract lots of merit aid.

You need a strategy. First understand that you need a safety and that will almost always be a state school you can afford with just the govt aid you qualify for ( this includes community colleges).

Next, do try the ACT. Get one of these as high as you possibly can.

After that take a hardlook at schools that are generous with merit id for your stats. That means schools where your stats are at the top of their pool. It will take lots of homework for your best result.

would you say the education is worth the price? specifically their School of Management?
