Is Boy Scouts a Significant EC?

Interested in applying to Harvard SCEA along with Stanford, P-ton, Yale...

Is being heavily involved in boy scouts a significant ec?

I got eagle scout rank early junior year, but I have stayed active with the troop.

Some of my awards/positions are:

Order of the Arrow
Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm
SPL, PL
along with a few other minor things

Many years ago, my son said he wanted to go to Yale because he read in a WSJ article that Yale gave a "bonus" for Eagle Scouts in considering aps. Not sure how accurate this is with today's climate, but achieving Eagle Scout rank is still considered an accomplishment by many. If it is significant to you, perhaps it will also show in your essays &/or recommendations, especially regarding what you learned while doing your Eagle Project.

My son should be an Eagle Scout as soon as he finishes his paperwork & Board of Review. He'll be sure to mention it on his aps & MAYBE touch on it in his essays as well.

YES BOY SCOUTS IS CERTAINLY A SIGNIFICANT EC. A significant EC is anything positive that you are heavily involved in. I would venture to say that Boy Scouts is probably one of the best things you can put down. It shows consistent community involvement through a well respected organization. Being an Eagle Scout proves your consistency.
