Is Boys State worth it??

<p>I have alot of good EC's: Part time job, leadership positions in 3 clubs including newspaper, community service weekly, study abroad last summer, government program this summer, finalist in state wide competition...So do you think Boys State is something that could really help my application? Ill have good recs, good essays, and my gpa will be around a 90 with a large amount of aps..I havent taken SATs yet so I cant say there...</p>

<p>So what do you think: Is boys state worth it??? will it be a distinct thing to place on my application which will help me get in??</p>

<p>It certainly won’t hurt your application, but you knew that :)</p>

<p>Where Boys State can influence your application is if you get elected to high office or are one of the 2 boys from your state who are selected to attend Boys Nation. My son really enjoyed the experience overall even though he didn’t win an election.</p>

<p>The program can make a huge impact. I was an alternate for girls state, and that in itself helped my application. Go for it. =)</p>
