as stated in the title. can I have a rec letter from a regular math/science teacher and another rec from the business/CS teacher as a substitute of eng/history teacher? (since its "business") I dont know any of my eng/history teacher very well because i got different eng/history teacher for every class every year

most people have different lit and history teacher every year.
Business MAYBE, but CS is totally not humanities. You should try asking an actual humanity teacher just in case. Not everyone know their teachers super well, you just have to pick one that knows you better.

CS teachers at my son's school write the math/science recs for MIT applicants, I wouldn't think they'd serve you well as humanities writers. Isn't there one teacher you've had for history, English, foreign language, art, music, electives... whom you might approach for a recommendation? It doesn't have to be someone who's known you for years, just someone whom you worked well with/for and who might have something unique and insightful to say about you.
