Is business your true passion?

Is business administration, finance, etc. really your passion or are you just looking for the nice salary? Do you really get satisfaction from balancing budgets, managing employees, or creating your own enterprise? Enough to live your life on it? I'm currently divided on whether I should go for business or medicine.

I've been told that the people who generally get a stable job and a high pay are people who do:

Medicine
Law
Business
Engineering

I know that I don't want to do Law or Engineering. I'm worried that if I do business, I will regret that I only strived for money. Then again, I'm not sure if I can confront the mental breakdown if I do something related to psychiatry. I took Introduction to Business and Small Business Management in high school but they really didn't light any sparks. It seems people who aim for business are more attracted to the salaries than passion.

My dilemma is even worse because I'm going to Berkeley... which has the 3rd best undergraduate business program in the nation. I don't know if I should blow off Haas for pre-med, or vice-versa. So yeah, over the summer I'm thinking this over REAL hard.

I eat, sleep, drink, and dream finance, simple as that. I just love everything about the ways in which money works and different ways that money can be made (i know sounds greedy), but there is something about trading that i dont get from anywhere else. It is a different beast, your discipline and logic are tested to the fullest extent. I know I have made x amount of money so far, but do I continue to hold my posistion and try to make more or do I close my posistion for concern that I could lose all of that X and perhaps more. These are things that constantly run through your head as a trader, and your ability to interpret and analyze information quickly is key. Analyzing charts and trying to gauge future performance based upon past performance and a few technical indicators is something that I even love to do, to some it may sound crazy but I have a real passion for finance and trading.
Albeit I did want to be an ibanker some time ago,I realized I didnt want to be a white collar peon paper pusher who slaved over excel spreadsheets all day...it's just not for me. Instead, I want to be in the action and making the markets move myself, all while having my butt on the line :)

Forget the high school classes.

Unlike medicine, business occurs not just in the hospital/office, but during your free time as well. Do you want to talk business when playing golf/squash?

business isn't just about the money, as a matter of fact, it's actually about the passion and wanting to help other people. For instance, there wouldn't be any drive to do anything, no motivation whatsoever.
