Is Cal Poly Pomona worth another year in community college

My major is electrical engineering and I got accepted into csulb. I’ve been hearing so many good things about cpp for engineering that I regret not applying there. I wasn’t really informed when I was applying to schools, I wasn’t even planning to transfer but it turns out I don’t really have many credits to take for next year.

I was considering staying another year in CC just to finish all classes I have and get and associates for pre-engineering and apply to cpp, but I want to know if it’s really worth the cost. Or is csulb EE program comparable to cpp?

I got rejected to SLO and SDSU with a GPA of 3.5 on my application but it’s a 3.7 now. I could do good this semester and get grade forgiveness for a class from my first semester so it’ll probably improve.

(If this pandemic keeps on I might be glad to stay another year in cc just to be safe)

The lower-division courses I can still take are calculus 3, physics 3, and differential equations. This comes out to be 11 units in total.

Other classes I will take for my associates are about 9 units in total. Then I’ll probably take an extra gen ed and a PE course just to stay full time for two more semesters.

So about 26 units left.

I really don’t like asking my counsellor, I waste a lot of time and never get the information I want. :frowning:

I only have two years in college btw.

I’m starting to think this is a dead-end question and I’ll have to choose on my own accord.

CSULB has a very good EE program so I would advocate to study there, get your degree and get on with your life and career.

@Gumbymom thanks. It’s been hard coming up with a decision.

@Skyrat, did you even visit the CSULB engineering department??? Holy cow, they have engineering firms onsite and you have the opportunity to work alongside the engineers!

When they reopen, you need to visit the engineering department at Long Beach. Amazing internship opportunities! Plus, the campus is very social. CPP, not so much. Don’t forget that Long Beach is closer to Redondo, which has all of the major engineering firms.
