Is Carman a lot more social than John Jay?

I'm trying to decide between Carman and John Jay. I know I want a dorm with all freshman. Since John Jay is mostly singles, are the people kind of anti-social, or is there some floor-unity? I know there's tons of social activity in Carman, and I like that, plus I like the Suite arrangements, but I'd prefer a single. So basically, I want a single room in a social dorm with a lot of floor-unity and social life. Does John Jay fit the bill, or should I sacrifice the single and go for Carman with guaranteed floor interaction?

I was feeling the same way and I went with Carman

John Jay is the 2nd most social dorm, after Carman. There is a ton of floor unity at JJ and I too want a single. I chose JJ because I wanted a somewhat social dorm, but a dorm where I can return to and also get work done and have some privacy. I have heard Carman is noisy at all hours and most students have to go to Butler to study.

i picked JJ single and then JJ double...JJ has a lot of unity and is very social...carmen can be overly social. when i was there during days on campus, this random guy came up to me and was like there's plenty of weed in carmen... ya so hopefully i get JJ

when I was at days on campus, the floor unity at jj was amazing. all the doors were kept open and everyone knew and partied with eachother.

yay, weed! (please ignore me)

My son is in JJ this year, and his social life, which is very active, definitely revolves around his floor. They are an incredibly tight-knit group. I guess you could choose to be anti-social there, but you sure don't have to, and he loves having a single, yet being surrounded by friends.
