Is Carnegie Mellon really close to Ivy? and Chance also =D

completelykate: “canoodling” can be considered an EC?
=(8^O

today I had to get a predetermined absence form because I will be missing school to visit Carnegie sometime next week. The responses from my teachers when they had to sign it consisted of, “Damn isn’t that an Ivy league school?”, “Wow Carnegie Mellon, that’s impressive”, and “Carnegie Mellon? Since when were you that smart?” (the last one being from my weights teacher) But just shows that yes, CMU is very close to Ivy, and some people may actually think it is an Ivy. Not that it should really matter, but people think it’s impressive.

“Carnegie Mellon? Since when were you that smart?”

That’s what people said to me after I got in :)

haha - i already go laser-tagging a lot and i’m always in the top 3 ^_^. but i mean i’ve done most of those, but i don’t really see them as life changing haha… they’re just normal day things.

Also - I just got a C on my Calc C AP midterm. will this affect my chances of getting into a good school as long as I keep an A for the year and score a 5 on the AP test?

oh and @ AVHS Dad - i didn’t do much to prepare for the 1st SAT i took, but i plan to take my 2nd one this june which will be after all the AP tests. this way, i’ll be able to study after the AP’s for the SAT which shouldn’t damage my grades.

Sounds like a good plan for the SAT. Over the course of a year DS managed to increase his SAT1 by 200 with practice tests and collegeboard’s emailed Question of the Day.
I think you’re fine with AP Calc. Just keep working hard.
Good Luck!
