Is CC slow these days, or is it just me?

CC's been doing fine, but all of a sudden it appears to be really slow. Every time I click on a thread, I have to wait at least a minute or two for it to load. Sometimes links don't work at all. It's definitely not my connection speed because I have broadband, and other sites work ok. Is anyone else experiencing this slowness? I even struggled to post this thread. Are there any logical reasons for this?

Most of the ivy league schools are releasing their RD acceptances/rejects today so its going to be like that all day.

redhare ~ I have the same issue. I guess Joev knows what the cause is.

there is a ton of traffic due to acceptances coming in not just for the ivies, but for most other schools too. ~this is what the mods have said. It's driving me insane however, and it's been like this for a couple of days, and I don't know how much longer I can stand it

It was like this yesterday and the day before, too, so it's not just today. It's a nightmare...It took me about 5 minutes to log on...

the funny thing is when i clicked on this thread, it said the server was to busy at first to show me the actual thread. then i tried again and it worked. so yeah, its been really slow for the last week. i was gonna post a thread about it, but as previously established, its been horribly, annoyingly slow.

Hmm...so I see. So in other words, is it because people who got rejected or accepted keep posting about their decisions for each college? I'm not saying that's a bad thing because I, too, get excited about my acceptances and immediately post my college decisions. And I also understand that rejections, which can be painful if left concealed, should be posted for encouragement. But it's so annoying that the entire site has to slow down. I hope it will end soon.

Yeah, it's much better today. I don't have so much to whine about today. No more rejections!!!

5 pm yesterday was the peak. 20000 applicants for harvard's 1500 spots.
Multiply times 10 ivies, and a pack of other top schools.

10 Ivies...umm...ok...i know what u mean though

so much better today, thank goodness.
