Is CC to CSU to UC the best choice? Going to Davis or Irvine

Hi College Confidential posters and readers!
I have a Q- I want to go to UC Davis in Fall 2015 because that is when they (tentatively) are getting the Bachelor's major I am looking for. Right now, however, I am attending a community college. I'm going to aim for the highest GPA possible (4.0). I received a 4.0 last semester and -should- get the same this semester.

I'm thinking of/ planning to attend my local CSU. This is my dilemma. UC's give priority to CC students, and if I attend CSU, I will be bumped to the lowest priority for California residents. Currently, there are only two UCs which have my major. UC Irvine and UCLA. UCLA's prerequisites seem too difficult for me (calculus). UCI and UCD seem most reasonable to me (statistics).

If I attend a CSU, will this be detrimental to me being admitted to a UC?

After attending CSU, I plan to attend for two years in my major if that changes things ;)

Thanks all !!! :-)

It’s better to attend CC becase: #1 its easier to transfer #2 They have TAG (Transfer Admission Guaranteed contract). The TAG basically gets you accepted if you meet the minimum requirements.

If your end goal is to end up at a UC, do not go to a CSU. You couldn’t dig yourself a deeper hole, especially since it seems like you’re doing just fine at CC. (4.0! Keep it up.)

Also, if you’re getting such good grades, why not shoot for Berkeley? And what’s the major on your mind? Withholding information makes our job harder when we’re trying to help you. :)

DO NOT go to a CSU if you want to transfer to a UC. The admit rate from CSU is like 9%.

Go to CC, do TAG for UCI or UCD and apply to UCLA…if u don’t want to do calc then try to find a major that is related.
